  • The British Railways 16t Mineral Wagon building programme lasted from 1944 to 1959. The majority of BR 16t mineral wagons had metal bodies with end doors plus side doors - some with an upper side door also. These bodies were mounted on 9ft wheelbase chassis and were non-vacuum fitted with standard Morton brake gear. These wagons remained in regular working use until the late 1980s.
