December 2010 Newsletter

Firstly we would like to say a personal thank-you to all those who have expressed their interest in our product by signing up for our newsletter. Through this medium we hope to keep you informed of any potentially interesting developments here at 17D Miniatures. So, here goes with the Issue 1!

Those of you who have been keeping an eye on our website will know that we are looking forward to making our first appearance at the LME exhibition at Alexandra Palace, next month (21st - 23rd January inclusive). We hope that you will be able to make it, and if so, please come and make yourself known to us on Stand E2.

For the chance to win a 5" gauge 27 ton Iron Ore Tippler from our range, what we would like you to do, is to visit us at the LME exhibition and add your details to our mailing list! Now, as you are already receiving this newsletter, we obviously already have your email address on the mailing list, BUT, even if you can't get to the exhibition at the "Ally Pally" you can still enter the draw by sending us an email - including your address details - and confirming that you wish your name added to the draw. (NB only one entry per household please). The draw will take place on Saturday 19th March and the winner will be notified directly, as well as the winner's name being published on our site.

As you will be aware VAT is to rise in a day or two. In addition, with our product range largely composed of steel, our raw materials costs can and do fluctuate considerably almost daily! However, as we are not yet VAT registered, the VAT increase will not affect our prices immediately - at least not until our raw materials purchases are affected. For this reason, we have decided to maintain our 2010 prices until AFTER the LME show, in other words, until the end of January. In the meantime we will absorb both VAT and materials increases from our suppliers. So if you have been thinking about ordering a model or perhaps some parts, our advice is: don't hang about - save a few pounds by ordering sooner rather than later!

This very afternoon we have been working on the finishing stages of out forthcoming 7.25 inch gauge version of this beautiful wagon. Construction of the first model is just about complete, and almost ready for painting. There is already a photo showing the main steel framework and some bodywork, on the website. We hope to have a photo of the finished article in a few days time.

The finished model will be on our stand at the January show - another reason for making the effort to attend! At £695 we believe that, as with all our models, the price for this complete, ready to run brake van represents extremely good value when set against offerings from other manufacturers.

Although the initial model is only available in 7.25 inch gauge, we hope to be able to offer it in 5 inch also, in the not too distant future. So please, if this would be of interest to you, let us know at the earliest opportunity so that we may keep you informed of progress.

That's all for now, but we are always happy to advise on any project, or assist with any queries you may have about our range. If indeed there is something you need that we don't supply, do please tell us - we can either quote you for a bespoke part or maybe we'll add it to our range!

Please feel free to email or call us.
