British railways had a large quantity of Coil J wagons, These were converted by
cutting down the 27 Ton iron ore tippler wagons in 1968, they had a wooden coil cradle fitted to carry strip coil.
Initially they were used by British Railways in South Wales, and had a Richard Thomas & Baldwin fleet number.
Later they were used over much of the UK network. With the Coil C's they were the last unfitted wagons in regular
revenue use on BR.
Our model although reproduced to 1.54" : 1' is more of a representation than a

All steel construction and modern engineering techniques allow this model to be used on a garden railway or club
